I have finished Ellel 365 and have to say that all the teaching was exactly what I needed. About five years ago, my husband and I left a church that we had been involved in for many years. I never quite fit in because I didn't agree with their doctrine of unbelief or disbelief in either the Holy Spirit's or the devil's role in our lives today. But even though I continued to operate in obedience to God's plans for me rather than theirs, I realized that I was under an oppressive religious spirit.
We began attending a Spirit filled church, and as I read and listened to Peter's teachings, the Holy Spirit released me from that oppression and confirmed within me the things that I believed, but that Satan had tried to destroy. It was like the Lord was helping me understand what I had believed but had never been taught or heard about.
I began to gain strength and confidence in the ministry and vision the Lord had given me, to step out in boldness to share the things that I was learning, and to operate openly (without fear) in the gifts the Spirit had given me. I now understand the power and authority I have in Christ. I think that one of the things that has been the most helpful was learning about the spirit, soul and body; about Satan's schemes and God's redemptive plan in every area of our lives. And I so appreciate the confirmation that the gifts of the Spirit are for today.
My heart has been to minister hope, healing and freedom to hurting women and children. In the past I have helped lead several women to freedom, but now feel so much better equipped to carry on this work.
I have realized that prayer is the key. In June, a group of us began praying at church on Tuesday nights and sometimes in between. We just started worshiping and petitioning God on behalf of our community. Drugs, addictions of all kinds, the occult and new age have been running rampant here and the Christians have been complacent and unaware. Those like myself who were aware felt hopeless and believed the lie that there was nothing we could do.
But the results of answers to prayer began almost immediately when we began to pray. Drug dealers and users have either been coming to the Lord or leaving town (through arrest or by choice). Just the other day I was handed a note from a lady complaining about someone bothering people in their apartment building trying to locate some pot because she had been unable to find any! Other churches in the community have joined our prayer meetings making it a community prayer time, and the strength in Christian unity is driving out the enemy who has been holding souls captive for many years. Satan's strongholds are being loosened and he is losing this battle.
We are now beginning to work on discipleship training and we are looking forward to using some of Peter's DVD's at some point. I am so blessed to be a part of this awesome work of God in this place and time. And I am so blessed to have been able to participate in the amazing teaching ministry of Ellel 365.
