Not a Lot of People Know That!

For unto us a Child is born; unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder. These will be his royal titles: “Wonderful,” “Counsellor,” “The Mighty God,” “The Everlasting Father,” “The Prince of Peace.” His ever-expanding, peaceful government will never end. He will rule with perfect fairness and justice from the throne of his father David. He will bring true justice ad peace to all the nations of the world. This is going to happen because the Lord of heaven’s armies has dedicated himself to do it.
Isaiah 9:6-7, LB

Over two thousand years ago the greatest prophecy of all time was fulfilled, quietly, beautifully and painfully – love reached down to a broken, wounded world identifying in every way with the rejection and damage, desires and delights experienced by the human heart.

We come to a time of celebration of humble thanksgiving for changed lives, for forgiveness and healing. For the glory that the angels have expressed has come upon us through the ages and the promised Messiah lives His life through us by His Spirit.

‘Not a lot of people know that’ (Famous quote from movie star Michael Caine). This is clear by watching the way they celebrate Christmas. Whatever present is given or received, it’s nothing compared with the one from the Lord Jesus Christ. If we receive Him into our life we receive His love, acceptance, forgiveness, healing and everlasting life. These are all in the astounding gift for those who invite Jesus to be their Saviour. No there aren’t a lot of people that know this. But I pray there will be many who find out about the real beauty of Christmas, and have the most amazing time ever.

Last Christmas the Queen said the following in her speech:
‘In the the last verse of this beautiful carol, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, there’s a prayer: O Holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us we pray. Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us today. It is my prayer that on this Christmas Day we might all find room in our lives for the message of the angels and for the love of God through Christ our Lord.’

Prayer: Dear Lord, we pray that through all the commercial celebration that goes on in this season, the light and reality of the real meaning of Advent will break through into people’s hearts at this time. Help us to be strong light and salt for you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
