It was a blessing to participate in the one day event titled Shame, Fear and Control. I want to share a little of the impact that it had on my life. Before the course I had grown up in various churches and attended a Christian school up to Grade 7. Following my parents' divorce, I attended a catholic school, studied to be a teacher, married and had 2 children. I had separated from my husband, leaving a highly abusive situation.
Before attending the course, I read Peter Horrobin's Healing Through Deliverance, Parts 1 & 2. It made so much sense! Around midnight I looked up the Ellel centre and signed up for the day event on the spot. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to attend! The Lord used the teaching time to help me to understand more clearly the patterns of abuse, shame, fear and control that I have been living for over 20 years. I had already prayed to forgive a number of family members before the session but really felt a release and healing during the prayer and "hug" opportunities, (thank you so much Wendy.) The group prayer time was powerful, and I know deep down that the Lord delivered me from a lot of the fear and shame. He continues to heal me and I've resolved to walk with him as never before. I have hope!
