Something Rare and Beautiful

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.
Philippians 4:8, NIV

In Scotland when you go for a walk in the exquisite countryside you may be privileged to catch a glimpse of the red squirrel. It is there for one moment and then it skips away to surprise another unsuspecting person taking a leisurely stroll.

How often do we miss the rare and the beautiful surprises that our heavenly Father wants us to see and enjoy? A magnificent sunset, a glistening waterfall, a tiny baby with dimples and a toothless smile, the gentle eyes of the elderly and the reassuring touch of a loved one.

Jesus reached many hearts with His gentle touch, His kind eyes and His caring ways. How often do we miss these precious moments in our busy schedules and time driven lives?

May you stop and smell the new rose on the bush, and encourage a toddler that his crumpled picture is the most gorgeous one you have ever seen! Seize the moment and create some 'suddenlies' in the lives of others.

Our scripture verse encourages us to ponder on the precious things of God: Finally, brothers (and sisters), whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things (Philippians 4:8).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to appreciate all You have created so wonderfully and show us how to teach others to see the rainbow in every storm.
